The huge complement of original units meant Medieval Kingdoms 1212 AD was ideal for History Hit’s series Battlefield Replayed series.
The Pope accordingly has a role to play, alongside a host of scripted features including the ability to annex vassals, release vassals where rule is tenuous, and story events inspired by history. Its high medieval setting takes the campaign into the realms of the Albigensian Crusade in southern France, the 14th century Reconquista in the Iberian peninsula and the consequences of the 1204 conquest of Constantinople by Latin Christian forces. It’s a project of wide scope, implementing 57 playable campaign factions, a rework of provinces and some 4,000 units. Medieval Kingdoms 1212 AD accelerates Total War: Attila’s timeline to the next millennium, bringing new technologies, units, factions and scripted narrative features to the base game.

Given it was released in 2015, you may be tempted to make use of player-made mods to improve on the original Total War: Attila experience. Set in 395 AD, it’s well regarded for the improvements it makes upon Total War: Rome II and for its dynamic, historically-inspired campaign. The only con in my opinion is that the modder was a little liberal in his time period research, and a few of the units offered are taken instead from a little into the future, but CA does this too so it shouldn't stop you.Attila is the ninth standalone instalment in the Total War series and one of the best. Have you noticed that Rome doesn't have any Roman archers and has to rely on auxiliaries or mercenaries? Or how you can't always adopt a few unit types from conquered land (Rome taking on hoplites after taking over Greece, etc)? Radious adds all this stuff in and more.Ī few of my friends swear by Radious and for the short time I used it I loved the breadth of units added. I think Rome, most of the Greek states, and a few of the major barbarians had their rosters doubled, with the minimum of new troops for everyone else around 5 or 6 new units. It adds loads of features into the campaign (which tbh I don't remember) but most noticeably/importantly, it adds many more units to each faction. One that I used for a while (before switching to DeI) was the Radious conversion. I personally use more but these are all compatible with each other and imo improve the game experience Realistic destructible objects fences etc don't break the second they get touched, you now see units hopping over themīetter horses and dogs and elephants visual mod with great effect Growth for lower taxes should you feel lenient on taxes, you get a small reward in terms of growth Sell your slaves get rid of slaves faster with a special edict while making money off of it Increased spotting distances for better aiįaster research add small research bonus to settlement buildings, that add up once your empire grows Major factions Carthago, Roma, Seleucids and Egypt all get some extra income to their capital, making for better opponents later (Human and AI profit form this)Ĭarthago starts with the territory of it's vassals 4turn version, the modder also released a vnailla version Training sites in minor settlements basicaly a must have when playing as Rome (also works for other factions)
Super happy colosseum made no sense to me that the colosseum was a downgrade basically (though happiness has been greatly devalued with the last patches) Oh boy here we go, all affect gameplay in minor ways which greatly improve the fun (imo)Ģ skillpoints per level up a bit op, especially when paired with 4turns a year mod
